Wall of Shame

The wall of shame was created to inform the Pet Community of Pet Sitters who have persistently been dishonest and violates the Terms and Conditions of the platform despite multiple warnings. It serves as a reference to pet owners everywhere as to the reliability and trustability of a sitter before a decision to book the sitter is made.

Pet Sitter Fraud - Heidi

Location: West Melbourne, Australia

This Pet Sitter by the Name of Heidi in West Melbourne has been working on PetBacker since 2017 and have secured double digit number of jobs on PetBacker compared with double digit number of jobs on one platform and a low single digit number of jobs on two other platforms.

Due to a complaint by a Pet Owner against her, our Trust and Safety team made an investigation on her booking and found that she repeatedly requested partial and full payment outside of the platform with the intention of making more money, ignoring the fact that this takes away the protection for pet owners and their pets provided by PetBacker, and possible insurance fraud. As a result of that her account has been banned by PetBacker leading to her uninstalling the app.

The following are summary of jobs where the Terms and Conditions have been violated in the last 3 months of this posting.

Quoted amount AUD50 but requested owner to pay for only AUD10 as deposit to pay less service fee, commit insurance fraud and against TnC.

 Job 2 - #70IGH

Request owner to only pay 50% of AUD560 payment on the platform which is insurance fraud and also against TnC that full payment has to be made on the platform to qualify for protection.

 Job 3 - #73AN5

Request owner to only pay 50% of total payment AUD520 for 40 nights payment on the platform.

 Job 4 - #77JAT

Request owner to only pay AUD200 of AUD350 deposit payment on platform and pay the remaining directly to commit insurance fraud and to lessen service fees.

 Job 5 - #7N11D

Skip the platform entirely by giving pet owner the impression that the system limits the minimum amount that can be quoted of AUD480 for 6 nights and 2 pets.

 Job 6 - #5PP4P

Requested owner to only pay AUD20 of AUD160 on the platform for the purpose of paying less service fees and insurance fraud.
